I spent 20 years being told nothing was wrong
I’m Rashmi, a BANT and CNHC registered nutritional therapist. I’m not the guru on the mountain. I’m the woman a few steps ahead on the same path.
The bloating nobody could explain
In my 20s, stress showed up in my gut. Doctors found nothing significant and sent me away with fibre drinks. Even with strength training, my tummy stayed distended and nobody could tell me why.
Hiding under scarves in Hong Kong
I spent 15+ years in finance, with firms including J.P. Morgan, Macquarie and RBS, and 12 years in Hong Kong. My symptoms got worse. I bought bigger sizes and hid my stomach under scarves. I flew to Harley Street and was told, again, that nothing was wrong: take peppermint tablets.
The turning point
After my first baby in 2014, a naturopathic doctor introduced me to gut health and the gut–brain connection. For the first time, someone joined the dots.
Starting again at 40
With my second baby and redundancy from finance, I retrained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition and qualified in 2022. I’m now based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, and work with women in person and online.
Why this matters for you
I know what it’s like to be dismissed, to try every diet and supplement, and to hide in clothes you don’t like. I’m still walking this path myself. That’s why I test rather than guess, and why my approach is small, lasting swaps, not another diet.
